1 - ENERGY: Designing and implementing smart energy transition: energy prices & business competitiveness

This session offers a platform for open dialogue on collaborative mechanisms that can accelerate transformation and contribute to a sustainable future for the region’s energy markets. The discussion will be structured to examine the solutions to the current investment needs and challenges, and to agree on/initiate first steps for laying the groundwork or creating a pathway for affordable and competitive energy supply.

2 - Financing building renovation: implementation of EPBD IV and preparation of the public PENB database

11:00 AM - 12:30 AM

The implementation of EPBD IV and the creation of a public EPC database in Czechia are critical steps toward improving energy efficiency financing. This high-level discussion, organised in collaboration with the Czech Banking Association, will bring together key stakeholders from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT), the Ministry of Environment (MoE), and the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to align on the roadmap for developing the database. Featuring international best practices from Slovakia, the Netherlands, and other European markets where public EPC databases are already in place, the session will provide insights into the opportunities and challenges for banks in financing building renovations. Discussions will ensure regulatory alignment and an effective framework that supports increased financing for energy efficiency improvements.

3 - Sustainable finance policy options and tools: supporting competitive transition and data access

The session will be held under Chatham House Rules and will offer a space to discuss the latest developments and practical insights related to the implementation of the national sustainable finance strategies across Europe. Representatives from public authorities will discuss insights and findings from technical assistance projects carried out (under DG REFORM), the most successful approaches and implementation, and the options for addressing existing challenges.

4 - Sustainable Investing in Times of Uncertainty – Reporting vs Transition

16:00 AM - 17:30 AM

The sustainable investment landscape is undergoing a transformation, shaped by post-Omnibus regulatory shifts, increased scrutiny, and a global backlash against ESG. This roundtable will bring together investors from asset management firms, banks, private equity, venture capital, and investment funds to discuss how to refine investment strategies, manage climate risks, and effectively communicate sustainability commitments to LPs and portfolio companies. Featuring a panel of senior ESG investment experts from CEE and Western Europe, followed by a facilitated discussion, this session will focus on pragmatic integration of sustainability into investment models while ensuring measurable contributions to the economic transition in the region.
